UCSB ocean Road
A new campus mixed-use corridor
After completing the Master Plan for the UCSB campus, UDA has been deeply involved in the design and development of Ocean Road, a new mixed-use corridor between the UCSB campus and the Isla Vista community. Underutilized land and outdated infrastructure was reconceived as a new neighborhood, through the introduction of new parks, trails, housing, and services in walkable streetscapes. UDA developed the master plan, pattern book, architectural typologies, and conceptual architecture for inclusion in an RFP for developers. In March 2020, a developer was selected.
