Stop VI/Cavile Place
Choice Neighborhood
A historic African American neighborhood partners to secure a $35 Million HUD Choice Neighborhood Grant for revitalization
In 2019, UDA worked with Fort Worth Housing Solutions (FWHS) and their partners to lead the community engagement, master planning, and architectural concepts for the Stop Six Choice Neighborhood. UDA led the physical components of the Housing and Neighborhood Plans. The robust community engagement process built relationships with Cavile Place residents and involved them in decisions about the vision and housing. HUD awarded Fort Worth and the Stop Six neighborhood a $35 million CNI grant. FWHS is currently implementing the plan to transform Stop Six with nearly 1,000 new mixed-income housing units, a multi-use community center, opportunities for local businesses, and infrastructure improvements.
